Playing¶
Do players need to install an app? No. The player page runs in the phone browser and works offline once loaded.
How many players? 6–60. Teams of 3–5 work best; teams share one phone per team, and the kit scales by printing nothing extra.
How long does it take? 30–60 minutes for 6 stops, depending on walking distance and how much teams argue about riddles (they will).
What ages? The Dial sets it: Cozy is all-ages, Spooky suits teens+, After Dark is for adults, and Overdrive is the competitive office setting.
Hosting¶
What if our space is small? A backyard works. Stops can be 20 feet apart — the puzzles carry the game, not the hiking.
Can we customize the quest text? Yes — that's what the setup call is for. Tell us what's actually at each waypoint and the quest gets written around your space.
What does hosting cost? Family Night $49 · Community $199 · Office Team $349 · Office Event $499 — one flat fee per kit, yours to replay for your group. Family Night's Halloween launch offer: code FAMILY25 takes $24 off, to $25. Full details: Choosing a Tier.
Who sees our photos and scores? Only you, unless you share them with us for the community showcase — with permission, always.
When is the current event window? The current edition, Wisp's Lost Lanterns, runs October 30 – November 1, 2026, with the current local activation in Volusia County, Florida.
Can we host outside Volusia County? The browser demo is accessible online, but that doesn't mean in-person event delivery is available everywhere. Email the Lab with your location and dates to confirm whether your event can be supported before advertising it.
The game¶
Is ZQM Labs only a Halloween game? No. ZQM Labs is the studio behind a growing collection of community-centered games. Wisp's Lost Lanterns is the current featured Halloween game; the lantern edition is a Halloween edition, not the studio's whole catalog.
